What is point cloud processing?

Raw scan data isn't usable yet

Point cloud processing turns raw 3D laser-scan data into an accurate, usable point cloud — registering multiple scans into one coordinate system, removing noise, classifying elements and exporting to the formats your workflow needs. It's the step between scanning and any usable CAD, BIM or measurement.

As it comes off the scanner, point cloud data is huge, noisy, in scanner-native format and split across dozens of setups that don't line up. You can't design, measure or model with it directly. Registering it to survey tolerances, cleaning it, and getting it into the right format and workflow is the work — and it's where accuracy is won or lost.
